Manchester United, Berbatov And Internet Marketing

You probably realise the link between Manchester United and Berbatov but how does this relate to your internet marketing business? Bear with me, what I want to show in this article is how incredibly linked they are and what that means for the success of your internet marketing business.

Manchester united paid around £30m for Dimitar Berbatov. They spent this money as they believed in Berbatov they had found the striker to carry on the traditions of successful Manchester United strikers such as Van Nistlerooy, Cole and Law.

Anybody watching Berbatov will be amazed at the skill levels of this player. I doubt there are many players on the world who have his footballing talent. His holdup play, his ability to control the ball with his first touch and his dribbling skills are a wonder to watch. However, Berbatov was bought as a striker and yet this is the flaw in his game...he does not score enough goals. For £30m Manchester United were buying a prolific goal scorer but to-date Berbatov has not fully delivered.

How does this Relate to Internet Marketing?

You have invested or are about to invest in an Internet Marketing Business. You take time to select what you believe will be the business that will deliver to you a constant income stream. You can look upon your Internet Business as your Manchester United.

To be successful you need customers, without customers your business will not deliver income and income is the reason you are in this business. To drive customers to your site you need to market your business and this is the Berbatov link. If your advertising does not deliver the purchasing customers then it is not supporting your business. Yes, your plan may look good, may even look excellent against your competitors but if it does not deliver the final product it will not support your business.

How does Manchester United still deliver success? They do not depend on one person for goals. They have many players who can and do deliver goals, Rooney as an example. Without these additional resources Manchester United would not be the successful football club they are. Without multiple routes to market your business will not succeed.

You need to become the Manchester United of Internet Marketing, always looking to improve, giving 100% effort and always looking for more and more success. Continue to investigate new routes to market for your business, on-line advertising, traffic exchanges, joint ventures, off-line advertising, social networking and a multitude of others. Above all, do not give up! If you follow the advice above you are giving your business the best chance to succeed.

Greatest Ever Manchester United XI

Goal Keeper

Garry Bailey was a very good goal keeper as was Harry Gregg. Alex Stephney served the club admirably and Edwin Van Der Saar is also another very good goalkeeper but they all pale in comparison to the Great Dane, Peter Schmeichel.

He is, in my humble opinion, the greatest goal keeper that I ever saw just ahead of Dassaev of the USSR and Gianluigi Buffon of Juventus.

Right Back

Paul Parker was a very good right back as were John Gidman and Mike Duxbury, Gary Neville is a good and reliable 1 as well. While Jimmy Nicholl as well as Brian Greenhoff did a very fine job as right full backs. But I have gone with Bill Foulkes as my right back.

Left Back

Arthur Albiston was an excellent servant for Manchester United as were Ashley Grimes, Noel Cantwell served the club well. But I have gone for Mr Consistency Denis Irwin.

Centre Backs

Too many great defenders to choose from so I have to admit this was really very difficult as how do you choose 2 from this list:- Martin Buchan, Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce, Gordon McQueen, Kevin Moran, Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.

Well I have not done so as I have gone for Jaap Stam and Paul McGrath. They are both very quick and very solid defenders.

Central Midfield Pairings

Another headache as way too many fantastic central midfielders have played for Manchester United including Duncan Edwards, whom, I have not picked because I have never seen, even a minute's footage of him, Nobby Stiles, Paul Scholes, Paul Ince, Bryan Robson, Ray Wilkins, Gordon Strachan, Pat Crerand and Sammy McCllroy.

But I have gone for Roy Keane and Bobby Charlton. Keane just edged out Robson for that role and Charlton had to be in there.

Right Winger

David Beckham just shouts out at you to be picked, as does Steve Coppell. Jesper Olsen and Andrei Kanchelskis were excellent wingers but I have gone for the most exciting natural talent to play for Manchester United, in my view, and that's current player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo.

Left-winger

Ryan Giggs is an obvious candidate and just got edged out. Gordon Hill on his day was exciting as was Mickey Thomas but the obvious choice is Manchester United's best ever player, George Best.

Strikers

Too many great candidates for just 2 slots! This was really really difficult as there is Ruud Van Nistlerooy, Wayne Rooney, Mark Hughes, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Norman Whiteside and Brian Kidd to name just a few but I have gone for Eric Cantona and Denis law.

My favourite Manchester United team however is the team that won the double in 93/94 with keane, Ince, Pallister, Bruce, Cantona, Hughes, Giggs/ Irwin, Robson and Schmeichel.

The treble winning team had arguably the best ever midfield quartet in Premiership history. Keane, Beckham, Scholes and Giggs.

The Enigma Of Manchester United

Manchester United is a football club that has experienced the usual ups and downs that are related to the game. Along the way they've had decades of wonderful years where they led a nearly charmed existence often followed by decades where they passed into near obscurity. Each time, they managed to stop short of losing all and disbanding. Someone always seemed to show up at just the right time with a plan to save the club from its certain demise.

Perhaps this unfailing ability to pull miracles out of their hats at the very last possible moment is what sustains the devoted fans of the Manchester United Ball Club. Whatever it is about them it is difficult to argue the fact that their fans have showed an incredible amount of longevity and loyalty. The truth of the matter is that if you ask a thousand different fans what the one thing that drives them to be fans of Manchester United is, you would have a thousand different answers.

For many fans, it is one moment in one game that sealed their fate and solidified their unending love for the experience that is Manchester United. The funny thing is that it is almost always a different game for each different fan. Others became fans of Manchester United because their fathers were, and their father's fathers were as well. Sharing the memories with their children is much like reliving the memory yet again and sharing it with their sons, and now daughters is like passing down a precious family heirloom.

Games will be attended and watched with devoted interest in the hopes of sharing moments and memories with children all the while watching as heroes are made and lost on the pitch. For some the discovery of Manchester United is a relatively new experience. For these, they do not have the long history of loving Manchester United as some of the life long or homegrown types of fans. These fans are not quite loyal or enthusiastic as other fans may be but they are true fans nonetheless. These fans tend to be fans based solely on the merit of the team or certain players in the club rather than the lengthy and time honored tradition that Manchester United represents.

There are also, unfortunately, many Manchester United fans that are what would be considered fair weather fans. These fans flit from team to team supporting whomever seems to be the most popular or likely to win from season to season. These fans will spend fortunes buying clothing and tickets that will soon be discarded in search of the next most popular football team. Those who have been groomed as Manchester United fans since long before they could support their own weight or scream their own cheers in support of their team look on these types of fans with a not so small degree of scorn.

Whether you are a lifelong Manchester United fan or this is your first season supporting them, I think you'll find that the experience that is Manchester United is phenomenal and unprecedented. Whether you've watched year after year as they pull of miracles at the last possible moment or cheered on as they swept the field dominating not only the game but playing in top form and dominating the sport as well I'm sure you've found that there really is nothing on earth quite like watching this team in action.

Duncan Edwards - Manchester United Legend

Duncan Edwards played for Manchester United between 1952-1958, and for those who saw him play they believed he would have become one of the greatest football players of all time. Edwards signed for United in 1952 after already impressing at schoolboy level and having represented and then captained the England schoolboys team.

Edwards began playing regularly for the United youth team, and he was part of the team that won the inaugural FA Youth Cup in 1953. It wasn't long however before Edwards played his first game for the Manchester United first team, and at the age of just 16 he made his Football League debut against Cardiff City, in April 1953.

Edwards signed a professional contract on his 17th birthday, and he became a regular member of the first team during the 1953/54 season, appearing in 24 league matches. While continuing to play for the Reds youth team, he again helped them win the FA Youth Cup. Although primarily a left-back defensive player, he didn't look out of place playing in any position in the team, it wasn't uncommon to see him play on the wing, at centre half, and even centre forward.

It wasn't long before Duncan Edwards' talent was noted by the England team, and he made his first England appearance in 1955 at the age of 18, one of the youngest players ever to play for England, a few weeks later, still being eligible to play for Manchester United's youth team Edwards completed three consecutive FA Youth cup victories.

During the 1955-1956 season Duncan Edwards made 33 appearances as the Reds won the First Division League and he repeated this success the following season as they won back to back titles, unfortunately missing out on a league and cup double during the 1956-1957 season as United lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in the FA Cup final.

The 1958 season was to be Duncan Edwards last, following Manchester United's away game at Belgrade in the European Cup the plane crashed after refuelling in Munich and despite surviving the initial crash he died 15 days later from his injuries, he was just 21 years old.

Duncan Edwards had played 177 times and scored 21 goals for Manchester United, winning three FA Youth Cups and two League titles, and he had played 18 times for England. Many believe he would have been the greatest ever Manchester United player had it not been for that ill-fated journey.

Manchester United Under Malcolm Glazer

Manchester United is a term which is known to football fans all over the world. It is a football club, an English football club to be precise. It is based on Old Tafford, United Kingdom. They are also known as the "Red Devils" of England. It is one of the most famous and popular football club with more than 300 million supporters all over the world. 300 million can be roughly estimated as 5% of the total population! They are the most successful and influential club and ever since the 1990s they are rumored to be the richest clubs in existence. The club had a humble beginning during the initial stages and was even closed down on number of occasions due to mounting debts.

Being initially called the Newton Health Y&R, it was said to be sponsored by a health club. Five European trophies have been credited to them ever since the club came into existence. This included one international cup, one European super cup, two European champion's cup, one cup winner cup. They were bestowed with 12 domestic cups and 16 premier league cups too. They were also relevant in finding and establishing Europe's G-14 football club. Malcolm Glazer who was an American businessman had invested on Manchester United in 2005. He had paid a staggering $1.47 billion just for a 28.7% share on the team. It was after a year long battle in the courts that he could ultimately get his hands on the team.

He had faced difficulties in claiming the club, due to the facts the takeover had made the club poorer by $850 million. Also he being a businessman, fans did not like the idea of a business man holding the reins of one of the most successful football clubs of the world. They had hoped for someone who had adequate knowledge about the sport to invest on the club. Escalating prices of the tickets also angered the fans as the club often received hefty sums from advertisements and sponsorship dealings. A vast majority of the fans even went to the extent of not renewing their season tickets for the forth coming matches of the Manchester United. Songs disrespecting Glazer and his sons can still be heard on many matches played by Manchester United.

Fans worldwide have been largely discontent by the takeover of the club by Malcolm Glazer. He had played significantly no role in the upcoming of the football club. His children were the ones who enjoyed director posts of the club for sometime. Despite these shortcomings, the club has surged forward under his guidance. He had spent quite large sums of money on the club and even more in roping the world's best football players into the club. The club had won two major cups in 2008 itself, the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League. It is to be noted that the Glazer group does not interfere with the daily business dealings of Manchester united and have left such activities to David Gill, the chief executive of Manchester united. Steep increase in the prices of the tickets had prompted many faithful followers to stay away from the club matches.

Peter Schmeichel - Manchester United Legend

Born in Denmark in 1963 Peter Schmeichel became one of Manchester United's greatest goalkeepers. In eight years at the club Schmeichel won five league titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup, Super Cup and the Champions League.

Schmeichel signed for Manchester United in 1991 from Danish side Br?ndby for a fee of ?530,000. The team had won four Danish First division league titles in five seasons and had reached the semi-finals of the 1991 UEFA Cup. Schmeichel had also become the first choice goalkeeper for the Danish national side, and his talents were noted when he played at the 1988 European Football Championships in Germany.

During Peter Schmeichel's first season Manchester United finished second in the league to the winners Leeds United, but they won silverware that season by winning the League Cup final for the first time when they beat Nottingham Forest 1-0.

During the summer of 1992 Schmeichel played for Denmark as they won the European Championships in Sweden by beating Germany 2-0 in the final, he had an outstanding tournament and was voted as the Worlds Best Goalkeeper for 1992.

The following season United won the Premier league, which was their first league title for twenty six years. Schmeichel kept 22 clean sheets as United won the league by a massive ten points, and he was again named as the worlds best goalkeeper.

The 1993-94 season saw United retain the premier league title and this time add the FA Cup, by beating Chelsea 4-0 in the final.

The Reds were everyone's favourite to win the title for a third consecutive year during the 1994-95 season, but they lost out to Blackburn in the Premier league and lost the FA Cup final to a determined Everton side, who secured a 1-0 victory, to leave United trophy less that season.

During the 1995-96 season United claimed a second double by reclaiming the premier league title overturning Newcastle who had a 10 point lead over them at Christmas. United beat old rivals Liverpool 1-0 in the FA Cup final. This season famously saw Peter Schmeichel score his first and only goal for United as he scored with a header in a UEFA Cup match. Schmeical was renowned for making runs into the opposition half or coming forward for late free kicks or corners in an attempt to secure a winning goal or late equaliser. In total he scored 11 goals during his career, including a goal for Denmark. A remarkable achievement for a goalkeeper.

1999 was probably Schmeical's best season at United as they secured the premier league and FA Cup and then faced Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final, coming back from 1-0 in the last minutes of the game to win 2-1. Schmeichel who was captain on the night in the absence of Roy Keane and he made a string of fine saves to keep United in the match and ultimately win the trophy.

The Champions League Final turned out to be Peter Schmeichel's last game for Manchester United as he decided to leave English football at the age of 36 and he joined Sporting Clube de Portugal. He later returned to the Premier League to play for Aston Villa and then Manchester City. In total he made 398 appearances for Manchester United and will always be remembered as a true legend.

The Manchester United Hero

"The only thing I have in common with George Best is that we come from the same place, play for the same club and were discovered by the same man."

Norman Whiteside

When people hear the mention of the Shankill Road in Belfast, they would in all likelihood think of a place where angels fear to thread. All The Same, being located close to the city centre the Shankill has now been turned into a busy shopping community. As there are over 100 smaller retail merchants on the road in Shankill, even tourists are a common sight these days.

Brought up on the Shankill Road in Belfast, Norman Whiteside was discovered by none other than Bob Bishop, who previously recommended George Best and Sammy McIlroy to the Old Trafford club. Whiteside achieved legendary status when he became the youngest player ever to score in a FA Cup final as Manchester United beat Brighton and Hove Albion 4-0 in the 1983 replay.

Despite being converted into a midfield player, he also scored the winning goal in the 1985 FA Cup final to give Manchester United victory over Everton. Referee Peter Willis also managed to hit the headlines on this warm London afternoon as Kevin Moran became the first player to be sent off in an FA Cup final following his rather clumsy challenge on Everton midfielder Peter Reid.

Even though they were down to ten players, Manchester United nonetheless fancied their opportunities as the game entered extra time. Furthermore, the Manchester United players just went on fighting even harder as they became progressively determined to present the Evertonians the coup de grace.

With 110 minutes on the clock, Norman Whiteside suddenly cut in from the right wing and hit a sensational curling shot past a fully stretched Neville Southall from 25 yards. It was a moment of pure and simple magic from Whiteside as he scored the only goal of the match bringing FA Cup glory to the Old Trafford club once again.

Norman Whiteside went on to make 273 appearances for Manchester United scoring a total of 66goals in the process. Tormented by a knee injury, he was finally sold to Everton in 1989 for ?600,000. A regular member of the vastly talented Northern Ireland team that went to the 1982 and 1986 World Cups, Whiteside gained 38 full caps for his country.

When injury ended his playing career at the comparatively young age of 26, Whiteside went to become a foot doctor and he now works at the Professional Footballers' Association.
